Awhile back AJ Mass released a book on Fantasy Sports including the 13 Archetypes that make up the perfect fantasy sports league. He later adapted those archetypes to fit reality television shows such as Survivor and Big Brother and regularly when shows get down to 13 people left will put out his list.
For any one who doesn't know about his list, it is ranked from 13 to 1 in the order of least likely to win the game to the most likely. This ranking is in no way an evaluation of which particular player is in the best position to win but which archetype has the best odds of making the finals and winning once they get there. Obviously since I'm playing this game and can't see all the confessionals and know all of the people from the other tribe I will just do my best!
I look forward to prediction writing future seasons though and making this a season regular of mine ;-)
13. Fresh Meat: Gina Marie
This person is often the one who is in over their head. It's a beautiful fish in a pond full of sharks. The person just may not be cut throat enough to really succeed at the game. I picked Gina Marie because she is such a sweet and genuine person but I think she is one to follow the crowd and go along with with her alliance and their plans as opposed to really pushing to be the shot caller that decides all the alliances moves each round.
Former Fresh Meats: Sierra (Worlds Apart), Alec (San Juan Del Sur), and Jefra (Cagayan)
12. The Ninja: Joaquin
The Ninja is the person who is often forgot about, If you were to list the remaining cast members this is the person who after you named the other 12 people you'd sit there going 'I know there is one more person... who was it again?' and I picked Joaq because he is that person in my mind. When I talk with Katia or my tribe about the other tribe he is always the one person who I sit there like 'ummmm who was the other person they had on their tribe?'
Former Ninjas: Kelly (Worlds Apart), Jaclyn (San Juan Del Sur), and Alexis (Cagayan)
11. The Cheerleader: Priya
The Cheerleader is the person who is the biggest 'pro team' player. They are the one cheering the loudest on the sideline for their tribe mates to succeed and are more focused on everyone working together to achieve a common goal and stay strong then weakening the tribe for their own personal agenda. I chose Priya because she got to pick her tribe and she chose Rakvere and has been very supportive in all of our challenges since we swapped!
Former Cheerleaders: Joe (Worlds Apart), Dale (San Juan Del Sur), and Tasha (Cagayan)
10. The Loose Cannon: Kat
The Loose Cannon is pretty self explanatory by the name alone. It's the person who's going to call people out, who's going to be very outspoken and who will go crazy if things don't go their way or they are blindsided. I chose Kat because despite having not met her, there was an incident Katia knows about that someone accidentally talked about the game to another person in the game not knowing they were in it. The persona that was passed on about Kat was that she was very direct and negative towards people she was voting out!
Former Loose Cannons: Rodney (Worlds Apart), Natalie (San Juan Del Sur), and Trish (Cagayan)
9. The Narcissist: Eddie
The Narcissist is the person who can't get enough of themselves, they think they are the greatest person to walk the planet, they think they are the ones controlling the entire game and they think that everything big that is happening in the game is because they made it happen. Unfortunately most the time since the swap Eddie has been AWOL, but the little bit we saw of him post swap he spoke about how great he was and how good looking. So he earns the role of the narcissist this season!
Former Narcissists: Joaquin (Worlds Apart), Wes (San Juan Del Sur), and Jeremiah (Cagayan)
8. Old Reliable: Colin
Old Reliable is the person who is as loyal as they come. If you have them on your side then they will vote with you until you are in the end with them or until they go down with the ship fighting for their alliance. With them what you see is what you get. I chose Colin because he exemplifies it in this game I feel. For those of us who are working with Colin he is a person who you know you can trust and will have your back and won't be looking to make a move to stab you and further his own game.
Former Old Reliables: Mike (Worlds Apart), Keith (San Juan Del Sur), and LJ (Cagayan)
7. Marriage of Convenience (Part 2): Sean
This next one is actually part of a duo, it is two people who are aligned that are different or who wouldn't normally be each others first choice but due to the situation they get put in they are kind of pushed together as a team. Often one is the leader while one is more of the follower which is why there are two different spots for this one, the lower one I think goes to Sean. He and Carissa were left out in the cold on the Johnny Damon vote and then swapped to a tribe together with their only other original tribe member being inactive.
Former Marriage of Convenience (Part 2): Hali (Worlds Apart), Missy (San Juan Del Sur), and Woo (Cagayan)
6. The Idiot Savant: Jen
The Idiot Savant is the person whom when you watch play the game you wonder 'what are they thinking? They are playing this all wrong' or the person who makes mistake after mistake that should cost them the game. Yet somehow despite their blunders they manage to keep sneaking by and you can't help but wonder how they got so far and are still in the game! I chose Jen as the idiot savant. Whether she is showing up for challenges drunk or being the last person standing in a tribe of 4 with three people whom all came from the same original tribe. She manages to stay in the game each and every time and no ones really after her.
Former Idiot Savants: Dan (World's Apart), Baylor (San Juan Del Sur), and Morgan (Cagayan)
5. Captain Loophole: Nikki
Captain Loophole is the super fan. They are the person who knows the game better then anyone else, including possibly the host. They are such a fan they try and over predict what will happen next at all times and are always looking for ways to bend or break the rules. They may do such things as to reference past games in an attempt to draw people out of Alias and find alliances or throw tons of balls so that Ian can't block them. Ultimately I put myself as the Captain Loophole as I think I know this game well, have been successfully making moves based on predictions of how the game will go and am always looking for ways to bend the rules just enough to help me out.
Former Captain Loopholes: Shirin (World's Apart), Reed (San Juan Del Sur), and Spencer (Cagayan)
4. The X-Factor: Grant
The X-Factor is the person who stands out and is different from everyone else. Such as a person who is a super fan of the show on a tribe of all Mactor recruits, or the only black person in an all white tribe, or the gay person with all straight people. In our case the X-Factor is Grant. The only caveman in a cast full of (semi) normal people. Him playing up his caveman character sets him apart from everyone else.
Former X-Factors: Will (World's Apart), Julie (San Juan Del Sur), and Sarah (Cagayan)
3. The Mad Scientist: Cochran
The mad scientist is the person whom normally has lots of crazy plans and wants to try and play fancy such as blindsiding people with idols, or forcing rocks at final 6 to give two other people immunity and break up an alliance... (:-P). I put Cochran here and honestly, I know nothing about Cochran but having some knowledge on everyone else (sorta) this was the character archetype/person whom was the last ones standing.
Former Mad Scientists: Tyler (World's Apart), Josh (San Juan Del Sur), and Tony (Cagayan)
2. Marriage of Convenience (Part 1): Carissa
I touched on what the marriage of convenience is up above. This is person #1 in the alliance of two, they are normally viewed as the leader of the two and gets more of the credit for moves made by the duo. I chose Carissa because she has seemed to be more of a go-getter of the duo since the merge.
Former Marriage of Convenience #1: Jenn (World's Apart), Jon (San Juan Del Sur), and Lindsay (Cagayan)
1. The Diplomat: Cyndi
The diplomat is the person who is a smooth talker. They can put a knife in your back and then give you a hug with a smile and you walk away ten minutes later fully trusting them again. They are well liked and considered a strong social player. I chose Cyndi because outside of myself she seems to me like she has the best social game in terms of keeping in touch with everyone. Anytime I have news to report to her it seems like she already knows it. She puts in the time and energy to build relationships with everyone and it is paying off for her.
Former Diplomats: Carolyn (World's Apart), Jeremy (San Juan Del Sur), and Kass (Cagayan)
I hope you all have enjoyed this and I look forward to hopefully making All Stars or Fan vs Favs this season so I can devote the rest of my time to prediction writing for this series and continue doing the 13 archetypes every season while seated in a position of PW to read what's going on and better know the dynamics to most accurately portray them!
