First of course, thanks to Katia and Audry for inviting us to go on this awesome journey; and to Production for the great challenges, and also for the cookies & beer Joaquin and I raided um found er, were given an opportunity to partake of a couple of nights ago.
Thanks to Colin <3 who should be here with me-for giving me and Joaquin both the chance to be here tonight along with Grant. On Day One I truly had plans but never really believed I would be here facing all of you jurors and the alternates. So many strong personalities and talented people here. I could tell early on that I was probably not going to be a huge challenge powerhouse; and I wasn't winning at being a social butterfly either, (time zones and life styles didn't click as much as I needed for that to happen in this game) so I knew I needed to use an alternative strategy. I had to be alert enough to all of the little intrigues going on around me, and useful enough in challenges to want to keep, but yet not be seen as a threat. As the blow-by-blow actions the boys have related shows, I was not intended to make it this far by a lot of you. And yet... here I am.
So what did I do to make it this far? I stayed loyal and true to my first alliance and as people were voted off I made adjustments as necessary. I was going to go through a long and boring play by play like the boys did, because we were all there and we all know what went down by now. So I'm just going to explain some of my votes.
Rakvere:
Elavia--missing person
John Rocker--missing person
Clint Black--targeted me, but was so obnoxious that even if I were half-dead I was a better option to keep
NuRakvere:
With so many strong players, the friction was bound to happen at merge time. Carissa vs Grant, Nikki vs Grant, Grant vs Priya, Nikki vs Jen, Jen vs Kat, and the biggest one of all...Jen vs Grant. All I had to do was stay out of the line of fire. This is where my strategy of laying low and letting the bullets fly over me almost got me voted out as my loyalties and my true strength were enough of an unknown to make people nervous. I kept my ears open and my mouth shut, avoided overt friction and stayed out of drama. This made me look like an easy target to some.
Carissa--got caught playing 2 sides and was targeted because everyone thought she had an idol. It was better for me to stay with my core alliance.
Eddie--evidently got lost hunting Sasquatch or unearthed Katias' supply of vodka and went awol into the forest, thus making him an easy vote
Kat--I wasn't going to vote for Nikki at any time, unfortunately she was outnumbered and no one would vote for Sean
Priya--got embroiled in some drama and started throwing people under the bus in order to save herself and was rumored to have an idol which cost her dearly
blank-- I sat out this round due to GinaMarie's prize which while I was immune, unfortunately I also couldn't vote and there weren't enough votes to save her or get the tie her since Joaquin used a double
Grant--it was him or me, and due to the feud with Jen I voted for him, however thanks to his abort button it was neither of us
Grant--I had an alliance with Jen, so due to the drama of the "I'm just playing for Kat" brouhaha I voted for Grant
Sean--was FINALLY removed for inactivity, however I would have voted for Kat as she was a greater threat to win the game than any of us
Kat--I decided that Joaquin deserved a chance in the finals, even if it meant me losing
Colin-- with great sadness and only because he begged us to
So, to quote that Survivor cliche..I outplayed, outlasted and outwitted. I can actually say I think I played as clean a game as one can in Survivor. I've really enjoyed this game and playing it with all of you. I welcome your questions. Peace out.
